EDSA Stay fit and share team spirit in a fun, safe atmosphere

The Edmonton and District Soccer Association provides soccer programs in the Edmonton district for adults of all ages.

Office Information

The EDSA office is currently closed to in-person visitations.  Staff will be working remotely from home to prepare for the 2020 Outdoor Season, with an anticipated July 2nd season start.  It will be business as usual, except for office access.  We ask that all communication with staff happen via email, fax or phone.

For players, coaches and managers requiring identification cards, we will begin that process on June 1st by appointment only.  Please contact Jessica at to book an apppointment to have a player card made.  You must present a piece of government-issued identification at the time of having your picture taken.  Please note that those without an appointment will not be accommodated.

Did you know that the ABTraceTogether app is a mobile contact tracing app that helps to let you know if you've been exposed to COVID-19 – or if you've exposed others – while protecting your privacy?  ABTraceTogether uses your phone's Bluetooth to keep an anonymous log of other app users you've been in close contact with. Download it today for free on Google Play or the App Store.

COVID testing is available for all Albertans, even if you don't have symptoms.  Book your test here.

With the Government of Alberta announcement of the implementation of Stage 2 on Friday, June 12th, we are moving forward with the next stage of preparation for the outdoor season.  Please see the June 9th memo for what teams are now permitted to do and what is required to start the season!

ASA Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims and Indemnity Agreement (adult)

ASA Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims and Indemnity Agreement (youth - must be completed by a parent/guardian)

Soccer Canada Return to Play Risk Assessment Tool

The ASA waiver must accompany every registration - we cannot register members without receiving both documents. Teams who already have sent in their player registration forms will have their roster deactivated until we receive the ASA waiver forms.

To ensure your waiver is complete, please complete the steps below:

  1. Read each section and check off the 3 checkboxes that state, “I have read and agree to be bound by paragraphs….”
  2. Sign and date the form. For players under 18, their parents will have to sign the youth waiver.
  3. Have a witness sign the waiver.
  4. Send the completed waiver to your team coach/manager.

We have extended the registration deadline to accommodate the collection of the ASA waivers. The new deadline is Wednesday, June 17th.

The Alberta Soccer Association has distributed the Phase 2 Return to Play guidelines. Please refer to the document if you have any questions regarding what you and your team can do in training now.

As we continue to prepare for the 2020 outdoor season, we are looking for ways to ease some of the uncertainty that many of our members are facing.  On a bi-weekly basis, we will be meeting with representatives of the Alberta Soccer Association and other districts around the province to develop contingencies should the COVID-19 pandemic stretch further into the summer months.

In an effort to reduce the amount of unnecessary social contact for our members and staff, the EDSA has arranged with Moneris to now take payments over the phone.  The EDSA will not be storing credit card information and will only take the payment information over the phone, processing the transaction immediately with the caller.   If you require any further clarification or information, please contact us at your convenience.

Looking for a great part-time job? Have you ever considered becoming a soccer referee?
•  Earn up to $30.00 hour
•  Pick your own hours & workdays
•  Get paid to stay fit
•  Expand your knowledge of the game
•  Increase self-confidence
Did you know that you could earn $500.00/month just by doing a couple of games every week? Our program continues to expand and we are always looking for new referees.

In this time of safe distancing, ASA has revamped the presentation of the Entry Level course. They have moved away from the 16 hour, in-person weekend course to a course made up of 3 separate modules. The first module is self- directed and done completely on-line at your own pace. Modules 2 & 3 will be 7 hours in-class and on-field after the CSA suspension is lifted. This can be 7 hours in one weekend day, or two 3.5 hour sessions on weeknight or weekend evenings. The cost remains the
same at $131.25.

In these difficult times, many of us have extra time on our hands so why not take the leap andbecome actively involved in the referee program. Contact Ralf Schmidt at 780-944-4080 or for more information.
